Our Vision, Values and Aims
Jesus Christ said ‘Let the children come to me, do not hinder them’ (Matthew 19:14). As a Catholic school it is our mission to educate pupils in such a way that no matter what their abilities or background they may reach their full potential as human beings. We thus seek to overcome any hindrance that might prevent any pupil accessing the fullness of the curriculum, opportunities and activities we offer.

At St Thomas More Catholic Primary School we are committed to working together to learn and grow as God’s Holy People, reflecting the Gospel values.
Christ is at the centre of all we do: our Catholic ethos underpins all aspects of school life at St Thomas More Catholic Primary School. We respect and value the faiths of all who share our common home and seek to share in spreading the love of Christ to all.
All are welcome and we seek to nurture each unique individual, made in the image and likeness of God, to reach their full human potential. Through high standards and compassion, we seek to allow each person to develop academically, socially and emotionally.
Today’s pupils are tomorrow’s global citizens, who must forge an understanding of their responsibility towards their global brothers and sisters.. Our pupils develop the skills, knowledge and ethical integrity, based in the teaching of our Catholic faith, to be active, purposeful and resilient global citizens. They understand the importance of community and their role and responsibility in their local and global communities.
Our curriculum is underpinned by our Catholic ethos. Learning is based in our Catholic context so that it is meaningful, engaging and encompasses a breadth of knowledge, skills and experiences. Learning encourages enthusiasm and independence, giving pupils the foundation to become life-long learners.
Values and aims
St Thomas More Catholic Primary School has adopted the Jesuit Pupil Profile and so our Values are rooted in Gospel values, with a focus on the education and formation of our pupils. Our aims flow from the values we hold.
