We hope you had a wonderful Christmas holiday and are excited to return to school!

Please make sure that each day you bring into school your reading book and reading record. For break time you may bring in a healthy snack (no nuts) and a water bottle. Our PE days will be a Monday and Thursday, please wear your PE kits on those days.

Homework

Homework will be set each week on Wednesday and will need to be returned the following Wednesday. Homework will be reviewed in class each week so it is important that homework is not returned late.

The Year 4 Team.

Mrs Woods – Year 4 Teacher Monday-Wednesday

Leader of Learning for Key Stage 1 and LKS2

Mrs Kirby – Year 4 Teacher Thursday and Friday

Our Class Saint

Our year 4 saint is Saint Patrick. We pray that St Patrick will lead and guide us this year as we ‘learn and grow as God’s holy people.’

Multiplication Tables Test

Children will take part in a statutory tables check in June. This year we will be focusing on times table recall up to 12 x 12. Excellent preparation for the test may include:

  • Regular practice on Times Table Rockstars (soundcheck)
  • Maths games such as those available on www.hitthebutton.co.uk
  • Regular quizzes and tests.

More information about the statutory test can be found at Multiplication tables check - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Educational Visit

In the Summer term year 4 will be visiting Conkers. Dates are yet to be confirmed and parents will be informed as soon as possible of the date set.
